1. Brand Strategy
The first step to creating anything related to a brand is to know your W’s. What does the company stand for? What is the company’s vision? Why are they creating the product in the first place? What problem does the product solve?
AreUIn was born out a need to solve a problem with executing small-scale events. People use Whatsapp groups to do this currently. Not only is this not the ideal approach, but also leads to a lot of stale groups, unmanaged finance splits and manual scrolling to find relevant message replies and the need to start everything from scratch for the next event.
2. Competitor Research
Next up is research. Who are the other players in the system? What do their users like & hate about them? What are the additional services their products offer? What is the tone of their product?
Our main competitors here were Meetup.com, Whatsapp groups, Meraevents, and other event listing platforms. There was no specific app aimed at solving this particular problem – organizing small scale events within local communities.
3. Creative Brainstorming
Brainstorming is fun, creative and an essential step to come up with fresh ideas. All kinds of ideas. The trick here is to not judge and let the team have fun. Once the ideas are in, we roughly skecthed out relevant ideas and sent them to the client for review.
4. Execute & Deliver
Client involment in each step of the process is vital. Not only does it make sure the deliverables match client expectations, but it also keeps the team motivated! Once a few designs were finalized, we revised them until the client was satisfied and gave us a thumbs up!
